Overview And Experience
Mildred joined Hanidel Jones LLP in January 2019 as a Case Support Paralegal in the Regulatory Team before progressing to Head Case Support Paralegal in October 2019. In April 2020, Mildred was seconded to the Serious Case Team at the Health and Care Professions Council to assist the team with their backlog during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mildred was responsible for investigating and preparing the most serious concerns, such as sexual abuse cases. She also regularly carried out risk assessments on documents received throughout the investigation to determine whether an interim order was required to protect the public. In February 2021, Mildred was promoted to Senior Paralegal and resumed her role as Head Paralegal.
Prior to starting her training contract, Mildred assisted with training new starters on the investigation process. Mildred also investigated and prepared fitness to practice cases relating to professional misconduct, lack of competence and ill health.
Mildred is an active member of the firm’s REACH and Social Mobility groups as well as both the Charities and Wellbeing Committees. She is also a Mental Health First Aider and Work Experience Ambassador. Melissa is involved with the firm’s pro-bono project, including the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre.
Mildred read Law at the University of Southampton and subsequently achieved a distinction in the MSC in Law Business and Management, incorporating the Legal Practice Course from the University of Law.
