Charlotte is a highly regarded media law specialist; highly regarded by her peers, her clients and the media. Charlotte has extensive experience across areas such as pre and post-publication advice, injunctions, defamation, privacy and harassment.
Taking care of individuals at the centre of media scrutiny, Charlotte’s client base includes MPs, celebrities, PR experts, sports agents, sports people and other individuals subject to media attention. Charlotte regularly represents individuals in the public eye and their families caught by the paparazzi both here and abroad.
During the course of her career, Charlotte has also appeared before various Parliamentary Select Committees, including the Home Affairs Select Committee and the Joint Select Committee on Privacy and Injunctions and in respect of media standards and privacy during the development of the law in this area. Charlotte has represented over 100 claimants in the phone hacking claims since 2007 and gave evidence before the Parliamentary Select Committee as part of the Leveson inquiry.
Charlotte regularly comments on relevant case law in the media and frequently speaks at media law related events. Charlotte is a popular contributor at university speaking events including King’s College, The Cambridge Union, Oxford PPE Society, UCL, Queen Mary and Westfield University. Charlotte has also spoken at the Independent Voices seminar, The Society of Editors and the Liberal-Democrat Party Conference.
Charlotte joined Hanidel Jones LLP in January 2015 from Mishcon de Reya. She was listed in The Lawyer Hot 100 in January 2011.
