Overview And Experience
Maureen advises on a variety of financing transactions with a focus on real estate finance.
She regularly advises borrowers on development finance, investment finance and refinances in respect of various property types including industrial units, hotels, science parks, offices, PRS and mixed use spaces. She often acts for high net worth individuals in connection with the acquisition financing or refinancing of prime and super-prime residential properties, and has experience of acting for both on-shore and off-shore structures.
Maureen advises on a wide range of loan and security arrangements, including in relation to lower value lending matters between individuals and providing independent legal advice on personal guarantees.
Some of Maureen’s recent work includes:
- Acting for a BVI borrower in relation to the refinance of three high end residential flats in West London by way of a £16m Islamic finance facility;
- Acting for a UK incorporated borrower in connection with a £15m refinance of a large residential property portfolio with a high street lender (including putting in place appropriate hedging arrangements); and
- Acting for a UK limited company and UK LLP as joint borrowers in relation to a £27m facility with a high street lender, relating to the refinance of an existing portfolio of industrial units and financing the acquisition of a new industrial estate. The borrowers form part of a multi-jurisdictional structure and this transaction involved relocating one of the existing borrower on-shore, from Luxembourg.
